Life, the Universe, and Nothing.

College has started once again for all the Anna University students and everyone has gone back to boredom. Yes you got it right. Having attended three days of classes, I felt college wasn't as interesting as expected and one could have been better off in the holidays since it provides for a wider range of activities... like sleeping with your eyes closed. The football world cup has thankfully wound up to a close and there shall be no more of sleepless nights watching grown men kicking balls around. Of course they earn from it.

Today we went out to play cricket at the local ground. However as it was a Sunday, an astronomical number of teams were fighting for real estate. We started the game and things were going pretty smoothly (I made some runs after a long time). Another team however decided they were the ones who regularly played there. This is highly debatable because we have been playing on that pitch on and off since finishing twelfth standard and they sneaked in and became "regulars" the time we had exams (All thanks to Anna university once again). We started arguing and this is were things became interesting. Both the teams were fighting for "justice" but no cricket was actually getting played. This scenario seems to be the bane of the human species. For example recently Pramod Mahajan and his brother got into a heavy argument over the division of their ancestoral wealth where one got his gun out and shot the other and nearly killed him. This is exactly what happened in our case and we should have shifted over to some other place because the other guys towered above us and looked like the average dumb villain you would find in a Tamil movie. The argument got heated and Hari lost his cool(as always) and uttered the Tamil equvivalent of the f-word. They decided they ought to pretend to mark him as their target when he was alone and made a mess of it and looked like clowns trying to act all dignified and boss every one around that had me in splits. Hari however was visibly frightened and started apologising profusely, that got everyone laughing. Depend on Hari for providing comic relief in times of distress. Ultimately we shifted anyway and the game got under way with the usual crap. What happened of the Pramod Mahajan incident? Mahajan lost his life after battling it out at the ICU and his brother got locked away. The doctors and lawyers split up the money amongst themselves in the end. Pramod Mahajan's son was so distressed he attended his father's funeral in a pair of jeans and got himself arested 48 hours later for drug abuse. Of course you'd know all this. Just thought about writing it down in my blog.

Yours universally,
Sundar.
